Lately I've been trying to discover my personal drawing style. I look at other great artist and wish I could make work like their's but I keep having to tell myself, that's their drawing style and not mine. I have my own unique style that no one can imitate and I should be proud of that. I remember having to tell myself the same thing my second year of art school and as soon as I really believed it, I produced the best work I ever have. I was out of school for a while and I guess I lost that, but I'm working hard to remember every time I draw.
Enough talking. This is from my sketchbook, I'll have some work up from my printmaking class soon.

I’ve come to the realization today that my best friend was right about Google. IT'S AWSOME!!!!! He began patronizing me a few months ago for still using yahoo to get mail and told me to switch to Gmail. At first I just though why the hell should I switch, how can any of the two be different, but he would stop bothering me about it so I switched. Now I'm not tech savvy in any sense, so in the beginning I did wonder what the difference was. He kept telling me about all these features blah, blah, blah and it all sounded like Latin to me. Finally I can experience what he was trying to tell me. I can write documents and save them to my personal database, add blog subscriptions so Google just sends me all the blogs I like so I don’t have to spend time going to each and every site. I even found an extensive preview of one of my textbooks I was debating on buying. It’s now in my personal library and now I save a few bucks. I'm usually the person who rejects technology and the confusion that comes along with it, but I'm starting to adjust and thank you to my friend Offie. Oh and my friend has a blog too on blogger. If feel like being enlightened, feel free to check it out.

The drawing was supposed to look like my friend Mellany....I don't know how well I did, but I tried.

All in all I had fun and I sold my piece!!!

I'm in my first group show, well not my very first but first in a real gallery. The title of the show is seasons. Various artist choose which season that they wanted to do a piece. I choose spring and was kind of lucky cause I got the last spring spot. I'm Still working on it and its coming along pretty good. I had to start over three times because at first I wanted to do the piece in oil, but I'm taking my first oil painting class right now, so I'm not so good at it. I just went back to my first love of drawing. It is graphite on wood, with a little bit of paint. When I'm done I'll be sure to put a picture of it up and a picture of the show.
